  • Kompetente psychologische Beratung für Linienpiloten

     In Dec. 2016 EASA published Opinion 14-2016, Opinion 9-2016 was published last August. Both documents shall help to prevent tragedies like the Germanwings Crash in March 2015.

    I was invited as an expert for clinical and avialtion psychology and pilot to take part in the EASA Germanwings Task Force. This way I had the opportunity to help develop useful measures for prevention and mitigation of risks. I could also see, what EASA finally decided – due to lack of qualified clinical aviation psychologists like me and very few European colleagues. The Europ. Commission is expected certify these papers in the 3rd quarter of 2017. That will bring new challenges to CAT-operators, aeromedical examiners, Aviation Psychologists and FOCA.

    In all these regards I can support you as follows:

    1. Implementation of Pilot's Peer Support Systems / Access for all Pilots

    2. Psychological Assessment during the Selection Process / AMC

    3. „Full Mental Fitness Evaluation“ for initial and recurrent Medical Class 1

    Germanwings-Absturz und seine Konsequenzen: neues EASA-Regelwerk ab 2017

    Nach diesem “controlled flight into terrain”, perfekt durchgeführt von einem psychisch schwer kranken First Officer allein im Cockpit, forderte die EU-Kommissarin für Transport die EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) auf, Massnahmen zu entwickeln, damit so etwas nie wieder passiert.
